The candidate waiting for recruitment in the Assam Police Department would be glad to know that the Assam government has now started holding recruitment. Recently, State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam has invited applications for recruitment to 487 posts of Constable, Asstt. Squad Commander and Driver(Operator). The interested and eligible male-female candidates can apply online from 16 February for the above posts by visiting the official website, police.assam.gov.in.

SLPRB Recruitment 2022 - Essential Details

The selection of candidates will be through physical tests and written exams. The date and venue of PST / PET will be intimated in due course of time by email, SMS, and various other means and through the SLPRB website (www.slprbassam.in).

• 30% (thirty percent) of the vacancies in each category are reserved for women.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Police 2022

The candidate must satisfy the following criteria.:-

a) Nationality- Candidates must be Indian citizens, permanent residents of Assam. Selected candidates will have to submit proof of residence /Domicile Certificate after the publication of the final select list. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC/MOBC are exempted from submitting such certificates.  

b) Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.

c) Candidates must speak Assamese or any other state language fluently.

Age Relaxation -

The upper age limit will be relaxed for:

• 5 (five) years in respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST (P), and ST(H).
• 3 (three) years in respect of candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.
• Additional relaxation of 3 (three) years in respect of trained Home Guards who have served for 3(three) years or more for the candidates who apply for the posts of Constables in APRO only.

Selection Process:

Candidates will have to undergo these steps for the selection process-

• Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Written exam
• NCC
• ORAL / VIVA-VOCE
• Final Merit Lists

Physical Standards -

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respect will have to undergo the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the DLSC, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.

Written Exam Pattern -

• There will be no negative marking. Questions will be of the level of class VII and VIII.
• The question paper for Written Exam will be in Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English languages.
• For each correct answer, the candidate will get one mark.
