India has declared Nagi and Nakti bird sanctuaries as its new wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has begun a three-day elephant census at Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. Located at the Eastern and Western Ghats junction in Erode district of Tamil Nadu, the reserve is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It is adjacent to Mudumalai, Bandipur and Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Tiger Reserves, which collectively have over 280 tigers, the world's largest tiger population. Declared a tiger reserve in 2013, it connects the Eastern and Western Ghats, supporting diverse wildlife.

The "Blaze Star" (T Coronae Borealis) will explode for the first time since 1946 in a rare astronomical event visible to the naked eye. Located 3,000 light-years away in the Corona Borealis constellation, Blaze Star is a recurring nova, brightening about every 80 years. This binary star system comprises a white dwarf and a red giant.

Krishan Prakash, famous for leading the Mumbai police's counter-terrorism unit, Force One, has received the annual Hindi Sahitya Bharati Award at the Sab Mein Ram Shashwat Shri Ram event in Mumbai. Despite a 3% drop in India's total cargo shipments, the Netherlands became India's third largest export destination after the US and the UAE in 2023-24. The Ministry of Defence has recently signed an agreement with Bank of India, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India and Utkarsh Small Finance Bank for System for Pension Administration Defence (SPARSH) service centres.
