Hello Candidates,

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has invited online applications for vacant posts of Assistant District Attorney from qualified male-female candidates. A total of 119 vacancies are available under the Latest PPSC Recruitment drive. Candidates will be appointed in the Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Govt. of Punjab.

Therefore, candidates who wish to join the low department can apply online by visiting the Official website ppsc.gov.in by 20 May.

According to the Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of posts for women) Rules 2020 issued by the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, women candidates have got 33% reservation (40 vacancies out of total posts) in PPSC recruitment.

  • Selected candidates can be posted/deployed anywhere in Punjab or India.
  • The number of posts may be increased or decreased by the  Government at any time before the selection process is complete without giving any prior notice to the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjab PSC Recruitment 2022

The eligibility criteria for Punjab Assistant District Attorney are as follows:

Academic Qualification -

Candidates holding a Degree in Law from a recognized University are eligible to apply.

  • Should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any stream with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.
  • Should have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language.

Age Limit (01-01-2022) -

  • Minimum Age – 18 years
  • Maximum Age – 37 years

Selection Criteria:

Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of a written test comprising 120 MCQ-type questions of 480 Marks. The dates for the exam will be intimated to the candidates in due course of time. The pattern for a written competitive examination is as follows:

The important points to note:

I. The question paper will be in English Language only.

II. Each question carries 4 marks and, for each correct answer candidate will get 4 marks.

III. There will be Negative Marking (One Mark for each question) in the written examination for questions wrongly answered i.e. for each incorrect answer, 1 (One) mark will be deducted from the total score.

V. To answer a question, the candidate has to find, for each question, the correct answer/best option.

V. Answer key will be uploaded on the PPSC website (after written examination), and the candidates will be permitted to raise objections (if any). Candidates will be given four days to deliberate before putting up the objections.

VI. Unanswered/Unattempted questions will be given no marks.  In  case,  a  question  is withdrawn, all candidates will be given 4 marks irrespective of the fact whether the question 

has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Application Fee:

  • For SC/ ST of All States & BC of Punjab: Rs. 750/- (Application Fee – 500/- + Exam Fee – 250/-)
  • For Ex-Servicemen, EWS, PWD & LDESM of Punjab, : Rs. 500/- (Application Fee – 500/- + No Exam Fee)
  • For All Others Categories: Rs. 1500/- (Application Fee 500/- + Exam Fee – Rs 1000/-)
  • Payment Mode: Through any Branch of State Bank of India Only.

How to Apply?

Step 1: To apply, candidates, need to visit the official website of the Commission at http://ppsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Then, on the homepage, click on the advertisement section. 

Step 3: Then, click on the notification that reads "Advertisement No:20222: RECRUITMENT TO 119 POSTS OF ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY (GROUP-B) IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS AND JUSTICE, GOVT. OF PUNJAB."

Step 4: Then, click on "Apply Online."

Step 5: Candidates then need to fill up the application form and enter details such as DOB, category for the post, qualification, experience, photo, signature, category, etc. 

Step 6: After filling out the application form, it is advised that candidates take a printout of the form.
