RRB NTPC Syllabus

RRB NTPC syllabus has divided into 3 Stages. 

1. First Stage CBT – Preliminary Exam Syllabus

2. Second Stage CBT – Main Exam Syllabus

3. Skill Test (Computer Based Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test) (based on the posts)

1. CBT – Preliminary Exam Syllabus

All questions are asked objective type in the exam.

  • Minimum percentage marks for all eligible candidates in various categories: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (Non-creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-30%.
  • In Computer Based Test (CBT) -1  are asked total of 100 questions.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes (1.5 hours) for eligible PwBD candidates.
  • There will be negative marking(1/3 mark) for each wrong answer to the question shown in the exam. 

According to the RRB NTPC Syllabus, the first Phase (CBT 1) has consisted of three subjects like General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude.

Mathematics:

This paper tests the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate.

2. Second Stage CBT – Main Exam Syllabus

According to the RRB NTPC Syllabus, the second Phase (CBT 2) has consisted of three subjects like General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude. But the level of CBT 2 exam is more difficult than the first stage.

All questions are asked objective type in the exam.

  • Minimum percentage marks for all eligible candidates in various categories: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (Non-creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-30%.
  • In Computer Based Test (CBT) -2  are asked total of 120 questions.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes (2 hours) for eligible PwBD candidates.
  • There will be negative marking(1/3 mark) for each wrong answer to the question shown in the exam. 
  • The level of questions varies for posts that are on different levels

3. Skill Test (Computer Based Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test) (based on the posts) : 

  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing and spell check tools in the third stage.
  • Typing Skill Test (TST) is qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit) shall be conducted for which the number of candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community shall be called for.
