SSC CHSL Recruitment 2020-21 : Exam Notification Released!!

It is our immense pleasure to inform you that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2021. Every year SSC conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam to recruit the eligible and talented 12th pass candidates on various positions in the government ministries and organizations throughout the country.

SSC CHSL Notification 2020-21: Important Dates

Staff Selection Commission is the principal government organization that carries out many competitive examinations every year. The Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam is one of them and conducted every year by the commission. 

The commission invites online applications from the interested candidates for the posts of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Division Clerk (LDC), and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA).

  • The total number of vacancies has not been announced yet but will be declared on the official website soon.

SSC CHSL Exam 2020-21| Eligibility Criteria

It is mandatory for all the candidates to adhere to the below-given eligibility conditions -

Minimum Qualification

  • For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): 12th Pass or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Age limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years 
  • Maximum Age: 27 Years

Age Relaxation

Indian government allows some age relaxation for the reserved categories-

  • For ST/SC Candidates: 5 years.
  • For OBC Candidates: 3 Years.
  • For Ex-Serviceman Candidates: 3 years.
  • PWD Candidates: General-10 Years/OBC-13 Years/SC & ST- 15 years

Application Fee

  • Application Fee for General/OBC Category Candidates- Rs.100/-
  • All the other candidates from SC/ ST/ PWD/ExS and Female category are exempted from the fee-payment.

Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.

Selection Process

The examination will consist of 3-tier process-

  • Computer Based Examination (Tier-I)
  • Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) 
  • Skill Test/ Typing Test (Tier-III)

The dates of examinations indicated in the Notice are tentative. Any change in the schedule of examinations will be informed to candidates only through the website of the Commission.

How to Apply??

Applications must be submitted in online mode only at the official website https://ssc.nic.in.

  • The online application process is divided into three parts – Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
  • Part-1 is the first step of online registration. In this part, candidate generates an ID and Password.
  • The 2nd-part includes logging into the portal through generated ID and password. The candidate selects the center name, category and other details in this part.
  • The Part-3 is for application fee payment in which candidates need to deposit the fee amount via online or offline mode.
