The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for the Civil Service and Indian Forest Service Examination 2022 by issuing two notifications on 02 February. A total of 1012 vacancies will be fulfilled in various services under the UPSC Recruitment Examination 2022.

Upper Age Relaxation -

  • SC / ST category will be given 5 years of relaxation.
  • OBC category will be given a 3-year exemption.
  • Ex-servicemen category will be given a relaxation of 3 years.
  • 10 years for PWD candidates (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC / ST).

Selection Process:

The competitive examination consists of two stages: -

  • Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
  • Mains Examination (Written and Interview / Personality Test)

Exam Pattern -

A. Preliminary examination:-

  • The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.
  •  Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of 2 hours duration.  
  • The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.  
  • The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.

B. Mains Examination:-

  • The Mains exam will include a written test and an interview test. 
  • The written examination will consist of 9 papers of traditional essay type, out of which two papers will be qualifying in nature.
  • Section II (B) marks obtained for all compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and marks obtained in the Interview for Personality Test will be counted for ranking.
  • The interview will carry 300 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).
