Bihar Police BPSSC Recruitment Posts 2020
Applications are invited by the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) under the Home Department (Reserve Branch) of the Government of Bihar from interested and eligible candidates for Police Sub Inspector & Sergeant and SI & Constable (under Sports Quota) posts.
- The applications will be accepted from both males as well as female candidates with reservation for different categories.
- Candidates who are willing to apply for the above said posts can submit their online/offline application forms by visiting the official website of BPSSC i.e. http://www.bpssc.bih.nic.in/.
- The appointment will be done on the basis of the Joint Competitive Examination.

Age Limit:
For Sub Inspector and Constable (Sports Quota) Posts -
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 23 years
For Police Sub Inspector (PSI) and Sergeant Posts -
- General (Male) and EWC (Male): 20 to 37 years
- OBC/BC/Women General Candidates and Women EWC Candidates: 20 to 40 years
- SC/ ST: 20 to 42 years
Selection Process -
For SI and Constable (Sports Quota) -
The active sportspersons will be appointed on the recommendation of the Talent Search Committee constituted under the chairmanship of Director General of Police, Bihar.
No written test will be conducted for the appointment of players. Active players will participate in the selection test after examining the certificates. The selection test will determine the candidates' sportsmanship, physical suitability, and future prospects in sports.

The marks will be determined as follows -
- Determination of Pre-Game Achievement: 70 marks.
- Assessment during selection tests: 30 marks.
Candidates who score a minimum of 60 marks against the total score of 100 will be considered eligible for appointment.
For Police Sub Inspector (PSI) and Sergeant -
The selection of the candidates will be done through written competitive examination and physical fitness test based on two stages. The written examination will have two stages - the preliminary and the main examination.
Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination will consist of a paper of 200 marks.
- The total number of questions will be 100 and the exam duration will be of 2 hours.
- Candidates scoring less than 30% in this examination will be declared UNQUALIFIED for the main examination.
Main Examination
Successful candidates in the preliminary examination will be provided an opportunity to appear in the main examination.
- There will be two papers in the main examination.
- The first paper will be of 200 marks in General Hindi for 2 hours, in which 100 questions will be asked.
- It will be mandatory to score a minimum of 30% marks otherwise they will be disqualified.
- The second paper will be of 200 marks in general studies, in which the number of questions will be 100 and the paper will be of 2 hours.
- For each wrong answer in the two-stage examination, 0.2 marks will be deducted.
- Based on the main written examination, 6 times of the vacancies will be selected for physical efficiency test according to the grade cloud.
- Candidates will only be required to pass the Physical Efficiency Test.

- For OBC/ BC/EWC/General Candidates: Rs. 700/-
- For SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 400/-
- Payment Mode for PSI and Sergeant: Online Payment through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking
- Payment Mode for SI and Constable (Sports Quota): The application fee will have to be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Bank Draft.
