Goa
Shigmo or Shishirotsava is a spring festival celebrated in the Indian state of Goa, where it is one of the major festivals of the Hindu community.It is also celebrated by Konkani diaspora and Indian festival of Holi is part of it. Goa Tourism Department is expecting one lakh domestic and international tourists for float parades to be held across the state during the spring festival of ‘Shigmo’.

Khilraj Regmi
Nepal’s chief justice was sworn in as head of an interim government tasked with steering the country towards elections by June after a cross-party deal broke a 10-month deadlock. The leaders of four major parties reached agreement to appoint Khilraj Regmi to lead an interim administration to oversee what would be only the second national polls since the end of the country’s civil war in 2006.

B. N. Srikrishna
A government-appointed panel suggested a super regulator (Unified Financial Agency (UFA) , merging oversight functions of market, commodity, insurance and pension regulators, while leaving the banking business regulation under the Reserve Bank of India.

Russia
Russia is the highest ranked in HDI followed by Brazil. India, not surprisingly, scores low on most parameters, except health where it is above South Africa. Russia scores high in GNI per capita. China is the best performer on gender equality.
