International Women's Day is celebrated all over the world on 8 March. This day started in America about 115 years ago when in 1908, women in America launched a big movement for their rights. The International Women's Day campaign for the year 2024 is based on "Inspire Inclusion" and this year's theme is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress".

The Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) has signed a 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore for setting up the International Center of Excellence for Dams (ICED). With a focus on dam safety, ICED will provide technical assistance, conduct research and offer educational courses. The ministry will give a grant of Rs 118.05 crore to the Center for creation and modernization of infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Haryana section of Dwarka Expressway. The total length of Dwarka Expressway is 29 km, of which 18.9 km falls in Haryana, while the remaining 10.1 km is in Delhi. Its construction will provide relief from traffic on National Highway-48 between Delhi and Gurugram. Dwarka Expressway is India's first elevated 8-lane access control urban expressway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Sela Tunnel as part of his one-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Which is the world's longest twin-lane tunnel. This tunnel connects Tezpur to Tawang near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Sela Tunnel has been constructed at an altitude of 13,000 feet. It has been constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
