The Athletics Integrity Unit and the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) sanctioned two athletes for anti-doping rule violations. Indian hammer thrower Rachna Kumari has been banned for 12 years. Nirmala Sheoran has also been banned for violating anti-doping rules.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the apex body of chartered accountants, has elected Ranjit Kumar Aggarwal and Charanjot Singh Nanda as the President and Vice President of the institute respectively. Ranjit Kumar took charge as the 72nd President of ICAI.

Recently, six forest officials were suspended for negligence in stopping teak smuggling in Kaval Tiger Reserve located in the north-eastern part of Telangana. Declared a tiger reserve in 2012, it is located at the southern tip of the central Indian tiger landscape with diverse habitats including dense forests and water bodies. The reserve, the catchment area of the Godavari and Kadam rivers, is important for its rich flora, including extensive teak and bamboo, which host 673 plant species.

Recently the former Vice President of India and Union Culture Minister will inaugurate the 'South India Cultural Centre' in Hyderabad, which is part of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's national academy for music, dance and drama. Established in 1953, it aims to preserve and promote the diverse cultural heritage of India. The Academy operates autonomously under the Ministry of Culture, with its Chairman appointed by the President for a term of five years. Entirely funded by the government, it coordinates regional academies, promotes research and encourages cooperation for the promotion of Indian culture.

Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav was unanimously elected Speaker of Bihar Assembly. He was elected Speaker after the election process in the special meeting of the State Assembly. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav accompanied the new speaker to the seat.

The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium has been renamed after cricket administrator and former first-class cricketer Niranjan Shah. Niranjan Shah played 12 first-class matches from 1965 to 1975 and is also a former BCCI secretary. This is the first solar powered stadium of Gujarat.

Cochin International Airport Limited has signed an agreement with Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) for the Green Hydrogen Project. Under this project, a 1000 kilowatt green hydrogen project will be established in the airport premises. Kochi Airport will become the first airport in the country to set up a green hydrogen project.

National Productivity Day is celebrated every year in India to commemorate the establishment of the National Productivity Council (NPC). With this, the Productivity Week which ran till 18th February also began. The National Productivity Council was established in 1958 as an autonomous unit by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Former Indian captain Dattajiro Krishnarao Gaekwad passed away recently. He was 95 years old. Before his death he was known as the oldest living Indian cricketer. Gaikwad represented Baroda in first-class cricket and under his leadership the team won the Ranji title in the 1957–58 season.

The Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar (MGMD) program recently launched by the Ministry of Culture aims at cultural mapping of 6.5 lakh villages of India covering 29 states and 7 union territories. Launched on July 27, 2023, under the National Cultural Mapping Mission, it compiles information on seven categories ranging from arts and crafts to historical and ecological aspects. The virtual platform enables people to explore the rich cultural heritage of India, foster appreciation, economic growth, social harmony and artistic development in rural communities.
