Recently, CBI conducted raids focusing on the former Governor in connection with alleged corruption in awarding the contract for Kiru Hydel Project in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Kiru Hydel Power Project is a run-of-the-river scheme on the Chenab River, developed by Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP), a joint venture between NHPC, JKSPDC and PTC. The project aims to benefit several states and union territories in northern India with a share of 49%, 49% and 2% respectively.
