SBI - Latest Exam Pattern

SBI - Latest Exam Pattern
In order to pass the exams conducted by the State Bank of India, you have to go through these three stages and pass them all successfully-
- Phase-I: Prelims Exam
- Phase-II: Mains Examination
- Phase-III: Group Exercise / Personal Interview
(1) Phase-I: Prelims Examination
The Preliminary Examination is the very first stage of the SBI Recruitment Exams. Candidates who manage to clear this stage of the recruitment will be eligible to appear for the second stage, i.e. Mains Exam.
It is conducted in online mode.
- A computer is allotted to the candidates appearing for this recruitment test, where they are first shown all the guidelines which are required to be followed.
- After which questions appear, to which all candidates have to answer one by one.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
(2) Phase-II: Mains Examination
Only those candidates who have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in the first phase will be called for the second stage of the recruitment process, i.e. Mains Exam.
SBI Mains exam is divided into 2 levels-
- Paper 1 - Objective Type
- Paper 2 - Descriptive Type

Both the papers are organized on the same day.
Paper-1: Objective Test
The paper-1 of the Mains exam consists of objective-type questions. The questions are asked from four basic subjects, i.e. General English, Computer Knowledge & Reasoning, and Numerical Aptitude, General and Financial Awareness. Papers are set in both English and Hindi languages.

- The total duration of the SBI Mains Objective Exam is 3 hours(180 minutes).
- A total of 155 questions are included in this exam.
- A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for each wrong answer to the question.
- There will be no negative marking if a question is left blank, that is, no answer is given by the candidate.

- A total of 190 questions are included in this exam.
- A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for each wrong answer to the question.
- There will be no negative marking if a question is left blank, that is, no answer is given by the candidate.
Paper-2: Descriptive Test
The descriptive paper for the Mains exam begins immediately after the objective test. However, the answer sheet for the descriptive paper is examined only if the candidate has passed the objective test.

Important Points:
- The descriptive paper checks the English proficiency of the candidate.
- The paper is conducted in online mode i.e. the candidate is given a computer, and he has to type the answer.
- 30 minutes will be given for the paper.
- This paper consists of 2 questions, i.e. letter writing and essay writing.
- Each question carries 25 marks and the question is to be answered in English only.
