UPSC CDS-I Recruitment 2022

Dear Candidates,

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications from eligible female and male candidates for Combined Defence Service Exam I 2022 on a total of 341 vacant posts. CDS-Ivacancies will fill in various defense academies. Through the latest UPSC Recruitment 2021, the commission is including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA), and the Officers Training Academy (OTA).

UPSC CDS I Exam 2022- Important Dates

Every year, the CDS exam is conducted twice by UPSC for those candidates who are interested in Indian defense. However, UPSC has released Combined Defence Service Exam-I for the year 2022 on its official website. 

  • The process of online application has started on the official website of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in, on which interested and eligible candidates can apply online.

Age Limit -

(i) For IMA & Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.

(iii) For Air Force Academy— 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2023 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2003.

(iv) For Officers' Training Academy—(SSC Course for men & woman) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.

Note: Candidate below 25 years of age must be unmarried. Marriage is not permitted during training.

Selection Process:

The candidate has to go through the following selection process: -

  • Written Exam
  • Interview for intelligence and personality test

Written Exam Pattern:

  • The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective-type questions only.
  • 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer for each question.
