Dear Candidates,
As per the examination schedule released for the year 2021 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), notification has been issued for Combined Defense Service (CDS) Examination I 2021 for a total of 345 vacancies.
The vacancies to be filled in various defense academies have been announced through the official notification released by the Commission. These academies include the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) and the Officers Training Academy (OTA).

UPSC CDS I Exam 2021- Important Dates
The CDS exam is very important for those candidates who want to join the Indian Army. The application process has been and the details about the exam can be checked in the official notification.
Candidates who wish to apply for the recruitment examination, to be proposed next year, can apply online by visiting the Commission's application portal, https://upsconline.nic.in/ or through the direct link given in the subsequent paragraphs.

Vacancy Details & Eligibility Criteria
There are certain eligibility criteria for UPSC CDS-I recruitment exam - educational qualification of eligible candidate, what should be the age limit, what will be the selection process etc., that must be ensured by the candidates before submitting the online application.

Age Limit -
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
Only those candidates who have been born between 02 January 1997/98 to 01 January 2003 can apply for these posts.
Only Unmarried candidates can apply.
Selection Process:
The candidate has to go through a two-stage selection process.
- Written Exam
- Interview
Written Exam -
The first stage of the CDS I Exam 2021 is a Written Examination. Candidates who pass the written examination will be called for a round of personal interviews.
- There will be a pen-paper based test, in which all the multiple-choice questions will be asked.
- 100 marks will be given for each paper, 02 hours for each paper.
- 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer for each question.
SSB Interview -
The process of interview involves two stages:
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and Picture Perception * Description Test - Aspirants are declared eligible at this stage based on their combined performance in PP & DT as well as OIR tests. Those who fail to achieve this stage will be sent directly home.
- Stage II: Psychology test, interview, conference and group test - All these exams will be conducted within 04 days.

Application Fee:
- For all candidates: Rs 200
- For SC/ST/Female Candidates: Free
- Candidates can pay either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or by using Net Banking facility of SBI.
