UPSC Recruitment 2022 - NDA, NA, CDS

Dear Candidates,

Union Public Service Commission has released two latest exam notifications for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA/NA) (I) 2023, Combined Defence Service Exam (I) 2023 on its official website. Eligible candidates can fill out and submit their online applications at the UPSC website till January 10 (6.00 PM).

UPSC Exam 2022- Important Dates

Every year, the CDS, NDA & NA exam is conducted twice by UPSC for those candidates who are interested in Indian defense. However, UPSC has released Combined Defence Service Exam-I, National Defence Academy & Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme)-I for the year 2022 on its official website. 

  • The process of online application has started on the official website of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in, on which interested and eligible candidates can apply online.

UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2022 -

Age Limit -

(i) For IMA & Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.

(iii) For Air Force Academy— 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2023 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2003.

(iv) For Officers' Training Academy—(SSC Course for men & woman) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried. Marriage is not permitted during training.

Selection Process:

The candidate has to go through the following selection process: -

  • Written Exam
  • Interview for intelligence and personality test

Written Exam Pattern -

(a) For Admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:—

(b) For Admission to Officers’ Training Academy :—

(C) Combined Defence Service Exam I 2022 :—

  • The papers on all the subjects will consist of objective-type questions only.
  • 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer for each question.

Application Fee:

  • For General/OBC candidates: Rs 200
  • For SC/ST/Female Candidates: Free
  • Candidates can pay either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or by using the Net Banking facility of SBI.
