WB Police Recruitment 2021 - Apply Online for 9720 Posts!!

Dear Candidates,

West Bengal Government has provided a chance of bumper recruitment for female/male candidates of 10th and Graduate Pass, dreaming of government job in Police Department. In fact, the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board has invited online/offline applications from eligible Indian citizens on a total of 9720 vacancies for category wise constable (8632 posts) and sub-inspector (1088 posts).

Candidates must be a citizen of India. Also, total vacancies as stated above are purely provisional and subject to marginal changes.

• Selected candidates are liable to be posted to any of the units of West Bengal Police. They may also be transferred from West Bengal Police (WBP) to Kolkata Police (KP) in the public interest if the Government so desires. 
• The applicants shall be required to indicate their choice of posts i.e. UB and AB in order of preference after qualifying the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Vacancy Details and Criteria

Note - For applying to the above posts, applicants should be able to speak, read and write in the Bengali language.

Upper Age Limit -

• There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC and ST and 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal.
• The upper age limit for departmental candidates of West Bengal Police has been relaxed up to 35 years.
• Upper age limit will be relaxed up to 5 (five) years in the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates and up to 3 (three) years in the case of Other Backward Class candidates.

Selection Process:

The selection process of the candidates will be as follows -

• Preliminary examination
• Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Final Combined Competitive Exam
• Personality test

Preliminary Written Examination Pattern -

• The Preliminary Examination will be an OMR based MCQ type written test. 
• There will be negative marking for every wrong answer in Preliminary examination. Out of the marks allotted for a particular question, ¼th will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• There will be a screening test for selection of candidates for Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test by Preliminary Examination.
• The marks obtained by the candidate in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted for the purpose of determination of Final Merit List.
