BIMSTEC Aquatics Championships 2024 is being organized in New Delhi. Central Youth Program and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated this championship. The first BIMSTEC Aquatics Championship is being held from 6 February to 9 February 2024. BIMSTEC was established in the year 1997. This group includes 7 countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand).

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the two-day ULLAS Mela at National Bal Bhawan, Delhi. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education is organizing this program. Seven hundred participants from different states and union territories as well as more than 100 people from the Ministry of Education and various organizations are participating in this event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 in Goa, which is an important milestone in the country's commitment to advance the energy sector. India Energy Week 2024 is being organized to reduce carbon footprint and promote green energy sources. More than 35,000 people, including more than 4,000 delegates from more than 100 countries, are participating in this event.

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupendra Yadav released India's first Snow Leopard Population Assessment Report. A four-year-long scientific exercise coordinated by the Wildlife Institute of India estimated about 718 snow leopards in the wild. Ladakh leads with 477, followed by Uttarakhand (124), Himachal Pradesh (51), Arunachal Pradesh (36), Sikkim (21), and Jammu and Kashmir (nine). India accounts for 10-15% of the global snow leopard population.

Senior IAS officer Radha Raturi of 1988 batch has been appointed as the first woman Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. She replaces Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and is the first woman to hold the top administrative post in the state. Raturi, who has served in undivided Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, has a long administrative career. Initially aspiring to become a journalist, she eventually joined the IAS by clearing the UPSC exam in her third attempt.

Eravikulam National Park (ENP) in Idukki district of Kerala, which is closing for the calving season of the Nilgiri tahr, hosts diverse flora and fauna. Declared a national park in 1978, it covers 97 square km, including Anamudi, the highest peak south of the Himalayas. Famous for the “Neelakurinji” flower that blooms every twelve years, the park experiences heavy monsoons. Rich in biodiversity, it has species like the Nilgiri tahr, gaur, sloth bear, and is home to rare butterflies and the world's largest moth, the atlas moth.

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his first international Test century in his Test debut match against West Indies. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the second century of his career on the first day of India's second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. He played an innings of 209 runs which is also his highest score in Test. With victory in the first Test match, England is ahead 1-0 in the series.

The 67th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) will be organized in Lucknow from February 12 to February 16, 2024. This time the meet will be hosted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Central Coordination Committee of AIPDM has handed over the responsibility of this program to RPF.

Indian Air Force will organize Exercise 'Vayu Shakti'-24 at Pokhran Air to Ground Range near Jaisalmer on 17 February 2024. The last edition of Exercise Vayu Shakti was conducted on 16 February 2019. This year, 121 aircraft including indigenous aircraft 'Tejas', 'Prachanda' and 'Dhruv' will participate in this exercise of the Air Force.
