2. The oldest and most organized industry of Rajasthan is cotton textiles.

3. The first cotton mill in India was established in 1818 at Dhusari, Calcutta, while the first cotton mill in Rajasthan was established in 1889 at Beawar, Ajmer, The Krishna Mills.

4. Bhilwara district in Rajasthan is the main centre of the cotton textile industry, hence it is called the Manchester of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan is a mineral-rich state and has a diversified economy having agriculture, mining and tourism as its main engines of growth.

1. Sawai Ram Singh II of Jaipur patronized Blue Pottery.

2. Blue pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur.

3. It is originally from Turko-Persian.

4. This art came to Lahore from Persia during the reign of Akbar.

5. After this Ram Singh I brought it from Lahore to Jaipur. However, the greatest development of this art took place during the reign of Ram Sawai Singh II.

6. He sent Churaman and Kaluram potters to Delhi to learn this art.

District Industries Centre: It is setup by the government of Rajasthan. There are 36 districts working in Rajasthan. There are 8 Industries sub-districts centres. This department caters to the need of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). These centres work for the development of handloom, textiles, handicrafts, marketing and other work involving their development.
