Rajasthan State Environment Policy was announced in 2010. Rajasthan Environment Policy 2010 identifies major environmental challenges and outlines strategies and actions to deal with them.

1. Maximum production of maize is in the southern and south-eastern parts of Rajasthan. These areas have high temperatures and rainfall, which is favourable for maize cultivation.

2. Highest producing districts of maize in Rajasthan which include Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Banswara, and Dungarpur.

1. Although Rajasthan is not rich in this mineral, the deposits available are of high quality (hematite and magnetite).

2. Most of the ore found in the form of hematite is found in small deposits which were mined uneconomically.

3. Some magnetites are also found at various places.

4. Iron ore in the state is found in the north-eastern and south-eastern parts of the state.

Khadin-It is a temporary pond made of earth, it is built under some sloping land. There is an earthen wall (Dhora) on both sides and a strong wall made of stone on the third side. When there is excess water, the pond gets filled and the water flows into the next pond. After the water in Khadin dries up, agriculture is done in it.

2. Pond- In Rajasthan, rain water is often collected in ponds. There are separate bathing ghats for men and women here. There is a well at the bottom of the pond, which is called Beri. This ancient method of water harvesting still holds its importance. This increases the ground water level.

4. Stepwell-Stepwells have their own place in Rajasthan. This is an ancient method of storing water. It is deep and has stairs and platforms to descend and is rich in artefacts.

5. Tanka: Tanka is an underground reservoir built to store rain water. The tanka usually has a square or rectangular shape and is constructed from clay or stone. A wall is built around the tanka so that rain water can collect in it.

1. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launched the 'Grow Cotton - Get Happiness' campaign of the Shri Vallabh Pitti Group at Dhanodi in the Jhalawar district.

2. This campaign will give good income to the farmers from their cotton cultivation and will help them become financially strong.

3. Due to this campaign, the area under cotton cultivation in Rajasthan has increased significantly.
