There are 4 main subjects in SSC CGL syllabus, like Maths, GK, English, and Reasoning. All the related topics have been described in the later sections of the article.
The Standard of the syllabus is a Bachelor’s degree level. In SSC CGL exam both subjective and objective type questions asked. SSC CGL syllabus is divided into four main stages or tiers. Check the SSC CGL syllabus as given below.
The question paper of all the tiers consists of basically 4 subjects which have been described below-
(A) General Intelligence & Reasoning:
It is also known as general mental ability or general intelligence factor, mental ability, and reasoning. The main purpose of the subject is to check the logical and intellectual ability of the candidate. It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types.
(B) General Awareness:
General awareness is high scorning subject for any exam. It does not have any kind of calculation and you also save time in the exam. In the SSC CGL tier 1 syllabus, Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research
(C) Quantitative Aptitude:
In SSC CGL tier 1 syllabus, the questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage.
(D) English Comprehension:
This section of the question paper determines the ability of the candidate to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc.

Tier-1 consists of 100 objective type questions. There are four subjects in the SSC CGL tier 1 syllabus. Every subject has 25 questions based upon the following topics-

Tier 3 paper of the Common Graduate Level test is a descriptive type of paper that includes- essay writing/precis writing/letter/application writing.
SSC CGL tier 4 is conducted only for two posts i.e. Assistant Audit Officer & Assistant Accounts Officer. The syllabus for the same has been described below-
DEST:- Only for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax)
CPT: You should have knowledge of MS- office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel) for the SSC CGL tier 4 exam.
The Commission will hold Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), comprising of three modules- Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides, for applicants for the post of Assistant Section Officer of CSS Assistant Section Officer (MEA) and Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under M/o Corporate affairs, Assistant (GSI) in M/O Mines.
